Registration for PhD (Part Time)
Payment of Fees: It is required to pay the fees on or before August 22, 2024. The details are available on the institute website.
Reporting and Registration for First Semester: You are requested to report at IIIT Vadodara, Gandhinagar campus between August 19-22, 2024. Last date of course registration for the first semester is August 22, 2024. If you do not report for the registration, this offer of admission will stand automatically cancelled, unless an application for late registration is received (from you) by the undersigned.
Verification of Documents: This offer of admission is provisional and will be confirmed only after your compliance with the eligibility requirements and production of required certificates and documents [birth/school leaving certificate, educational certificates and marksheets from 10th standard onwards, caste/category certificate (for OBC/SC/ST/PWD/EWS), GATE/NET/CSIR/UGC Fellowship certificate (if applicable), NOC (in case of employed candidates, etc] in original at the time of Registration.
In case, your qualifying degree result is awaited, submit a copy of provisional certificates. You shall have to produce their original pass certificates and Mark sheets, latest by September 30, 2024.
Commencement of Classes: The classes for institute courses will commence on August 19, 2024. You will be informed about the class schedule separately.
In addition to documents and certificates mentioned above, following documents are required for Registration Process:

Medical Fitness Certificate: The enclosed Medical Fitness Form duly completed and certified by a registered medical practitioner.

Kindly note the followings:
Coursework: The coursework will be assigned as per advice of the Research Progress Committee. We expect you to take semester-long leave for the coursework at IIIT Vadodara. Alternatively, you may register at nearby IIT/NIT/IIIT for the coursework. However, if it is not possible then you may register at max one NPTEL/Supervised self study course. Other courses must be registered at the Institute/ IIT/ NIT/ IIIT/ equivalent government institution.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will have to pass a Comprehensive examination. After passing the Comprehensive examination, you may register for research credits. You are expected to maintain at least 16 hrs per month contact hours with the supervisor. To review the progress, the Research Progress Seminar will be conducted physically at the end of each semester (as per Institute norms).
Financial Assistance: You will not get any financial assistance from the institute.
